WASHINGTON (AP) — Newly elected British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has made his maiden appearance on the international stage with a strong signal of support for Ukraine and a pat on the back from President Joe Biden. After a full day of meetings Wednesday at the NATO summit in Washington, Starmer met Biden at the White House, where he and the president extolled the U.S.-British special relationship. In his international debut, Starmer reaffirmed Britain’s full-throated backing for Kyiv as it battles Russia’s invasion and found time to watch England beat the Netherlands to make it into the European Championship soccer final this weekend.
