NEW YORK (AP) — Porn actor Stormy Daniels has taken the witness stand in the hush money case against former president Donald Trump in the biggest spectacle yet of the historic first criminal trial of a former president. Daniels is at the center of the case because she was paid $130,000 the final weeks of Trump’s 2016 Republican presidential campaign to keep quiet about what she says was an awkward and unexpected sexual encounter with Trump a decade before. He has denied having sex with her. Daniels on Tuesday recounted her childhood in Louisiana before moving on to her career in the porn industry and a chance encounter with Trump at a celebrity golf tournament.
