BLACKFOOT, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - UPDATE 2:40 p.m. Idaho State Police investigated an injury crash southbound on Interstate 15 at milepost 88, south of Blackfoot around 10:50 a.m. Wednesday.

ISP reports Nicholas Transtrum, 45, of Blackfoot, was traveling southbound in a 2000 Ford F250 pulling a 2014 food truck trailer when he left the right side of the roadway and struck the guard rail. The trailer flipped and caught fire. Landan Van Cleave, 19, of Blackfoot and Teigen Erickson, 20, of Ammon were passengers in the vehicle.

All occupants were wearing a seatbelt.

A ground ambulance transported Transtrum to Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot. The southbound lanes were blocked for approximately 2 hours.

"The good news is stuff can be replaced," Transtrum said. "I can get a new truck. I can get a new trailer. But you can’t replace family and friends. Aside from what appears to be some bumps and bruises, I’m glad nobody was seriously injured.

"I am touched by the outpouring of thoughts, prayers and well-wishes that we are receiving. Nothing compares to our community that pulls together to help each other out. I believe that is the essence of freedom… SO WE MAY ALL enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
