Police seek help identifying apartment intruder

REXBURG, Idaho (KIFI) - UPDATE 6/11/21: The Rexburg Police Department is asking for your assistance in identifying the person in this video.

In the early morning hours of June 6, this video shows a male subject walking the hallway of The Cedars Women’s Apartments.

The male was also captured on video illegally entering an unlocked apartment where residents were asleep and leaving a short time later.

The male was seen leaving this complex and then tracked to The Cove Women’s Apartments a block away. He then illegally entered several unlocked apartments there.

The male is wearing dark color pants, black hoodie, blue stocking cap and multicolored sneakers. He is also wearing a light blue facial covering.

Police are asking the public to study the video and if you recognize any features, mannerisms or clothing, they ask you contact the Rexburg Police Department at 208-359-3000. You can remain anonymous.

ORIGINAL: Rexburg Police are investigating an incident of a man illegally entering female student apartments at Brigham Young University-Idaho early Sunday morning.

Police are working to identify the man responsible.

"The university is committed to maintaining a safe campus community," the university said in an official notice. "Students are encouraged to ensure apartment doors and windows are locked at night and when not at home. In addition, never provide others unauthorized access to apartments or buildings."
