SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A man suspected of opening fire inside a grocery store in Washington state, killing one person and injuring another, was a suspected shoplifter who appeared to be battling mental illness. That’s according to court documents filed Monday. Police in Richland say 39-year-old Aaron Christopher Kelly was arrested late Monday night in a vehicle on Interstate 90 near Spokane, He made an initial court appearance Tuesday on charges of first-degree murder and first-degree attempted murder. He did not enter a plea and was jailed on $1 million bail. His attorney declined to comment. Kelly had been identified by police earlier Monday as the suspect in the shootings at a Fred Meyer grocery store.
