Wanted man captured after standoff at Ammon home

AMMON, Idaho (KIFI) — Bonneville County Sheriff deputies and police officers surrounded a home in Ammon Monday night in search of a wanted suspect.

The sheriff’s office said Chad D. Finlayson barricaded themselves inside a home on Silkwood Circle off John Adams Parkway near Ammon Road just after 7 p.m. Finlayson is the man deputies were searching for in an Idaho Falls neighborhood last Friday night, November 29. Deputies said he was wanted for violating his probation.

Chad D. Finlayson was captured Monday night following a standoff with police.

Finlayson was taken into custody just after 10 p.m. Monday. The sheriff's office said Tuesday morning that they received a tip that Finlayson was in the home and confirmed it with the homeowner. No one else was in the home when he was arrested.

A SWAT team and Idaho Falls Police officers were also on scene to assist.

Finlayson was booked in the Bonneville County Jail on three outstanding warrants from prior convictions for Eluding Law Enforcement and Drug Violations. He may face more charges related to Monday and Friday's incidents.
