‘Nuclear Now’ documentary features the Idaho National Lab

IDHAO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - A new Oliver Stone documentary debuting at Edwards Theater May 1 and May 2 is making waves for the Idaho National Lab.

Shannon Bragg-Sitton is the INL Director for the Integrated Energy and Storage Systems Division. She is featured in the documentary. Local News 8 caught up with Shannon to ask her about her role and what the documentary means for the nuclear industry.

"Well, it was pretty exciting to have someone like Oliver Stone ask the laboratory to talk about the role of nuclear energy in our future clean energy systems," she said. "I was honored to be one of those lucky few that were interviewed by Mr. Stone to offer some insights into the potential role of nuclear energy, working alongside other clean energy generators such that we can clean up our air, we can have purified water systems and really begin to inject more and more non emitting energy sources into all aspects of life."

The INL says 'Nuclear Now' makes the case for nuclear power as a safe, low emissions energy solution in the face of climate change.

The May 1 screening at 7:30 p.m. at the Edwards Theater in Ammon will feature panelists form the INL to answer questions after the screening. Due to strong local response, a second screening was added for May 1 at 8 p.m. with another showing May 2 at 7:30 p.m.
