WASHINGTON (AP) — Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris have marked the first anniversary of the deadliest attack on Jews since the Holocaust. Harris described the Oct. 7, 2023, attack by Hamas as “an act of pure evil,” and she planted a tree at the vice president’s residence to honor the victims. Trump injected politics into a remembrance ceremony with Jewish community leaders at one of his Florida resorts, saying that anti-Jewish sentiment had infected the Democratic Party. Earlier in the day, he visited the gravesite of the late leader of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement of Orthodox Judaism.
