3 things to know this morning – January 20, 2023
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - Here's what you should know to start your Friday.
1. A gag order in the Moscow murder case is expanding to attorneys who are representing a witness, victim, or victim’s family. The order now prohibits any of the parties in the case from talking about anything likely to interfere with a fair trial.
2. The discovery of new DNA evidence could cause the court to sever the trials of Chad Daybell and Lori Vallow-Daybell. State labs could expedite the review of DNA in potential evidence, insuring it's in by the judge's deadline in February or we could be moving forward with two trials, both in Ada County; one on April 3rd and Chad Daybell's on a later date. The death penalty is still on the table, pending a decision from Judge Boyce.
3. Parking restrictions have been lifted in Idaho Falls, but street crews are still working around cul-de-sacs. Meanwhile, the Idaho Transportation Department will address potholes using a temporary cold mix.
