Do not drink water advisory lifted in Roberts
ROBERTS, Idaho (KIFI)- UPDATE From the City of Roberts: Monday July 17th, three water samples at three separate locations within the City of Roberts were taken by Mountain West Environmental. Mountain West Environmental has been informed, by the lab, that all samples were absent of any bacteria. At this time the City has been notified that the City' Municipal water is safe for use and drinking. The information issued by the town on Sunday is no longer in effect. If you have any questions, please call City Hall at (208) 228-3220.Â
The City of Roberts routinely monitor the conditions in the drinking water distribution system.
The City issued the DO NOT BOIL and DO NOT DRINK THE WATER order after a power outage caused low water pressure in the system.
The Department of Environmental Quality says a breaker tripped and caused that power outage. They also said the City of Roberts is planning on installing a surge protector, as well as a back up booster pump, to prevent future problems with power outages and the water system.
The Department of Environmental Quality added that the City of Roberts went above and beyond what they were required to do to protect city residents.
