Utah Lt. Governor Deidre Henderson contracts COVID-19
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah Lieutenant Governor Deidre Henderson has contracted COVID-19 amid a variant-fueled surge that is sweeping Utah and the Capitol. It’s the second time the 47-year-old Republican has tested positive and follows reports of multiple state lawmakers also testing positive. Henderson’s office said the lieutenant governor was recovering but planned to cancel all of her public events for the rest of the week. Henderson also tested positive in August 2020 and was vaccinated last year. A spokesperson said she was doing well and looked forward to returning to work.
