Thunder Ridge and Idaho Falls tie at 3 in wild back-and-forth battle

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - Thunder Ridge and Idaho Falls' matchup on the pitch Monday night was visualization of a swinging pendulum on a soccer field, with the two teams trading goal for goal and ultimately tying after extra time.

Willow Rhoda scored early for the Titans in the 8th minute, then Kailey Combo tied the game for the Tigers 1-1 before the half.

Early in the second half, the two teams traded goals within five minutes of each other for a 2-2 score.

Freshman Marisol Stosich gave Thunder Ridge the lead with her first career goal in the 72nd minute, but in extra time, Idaho Falls scored on a penalty kick for a 3-3 tie just before the final whistle blew.

Next up, Thunder Ridge travels to Blackfoot Wednesday while Idaho Falls heads north to Rigby Thursday. Both games begin at 4:30 p.m.
