Madison bounces back from early deficit to take down Highland 3-1

REXBURG, Idaho (KIFI) - Though Madison's conference opener didn't start as well as the Bobcats would have liked, Madison roared back in the first half on their way to a 3-1 win and a 1-0 start in 5A High Country play.

Robert Merkley scored for the Rams in the game's first minutes for a 1-0 Highland lead, but the Bobcats responded later in the half.

Midway through the half, Thomas Boerr scored an outstanding goal with a defender on his back to tie the game. Then, minutes later, Nolan Gee found twine on a rebound for the eventual game-winner, as Madison went on to win 3-1.

Next up, Madison takes on Rigby Monday at 7:00 p.m., while Highland hosts Thunder Ridge the same day at 4:30 p.m.
