The Nation’s Weather for Thursday, January 14, 2021
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A storm will dive south out of Canada and into the Great
Lakes tomorrow and bring accumulating snow from the eastern
Dakotas to Michigan. West of this storm, strong winds will
develop across much of the Plains and can lead to power
outages and tricky travel. A strong area of high pressure
will build into the Northwest, allowing the drenched region
to finally dry out and experience milder conditions.
Fall-like warmth will begin to build across the Southwest,
where many areas will feel more like September than January.
In the East, largely dry weather will encompass the region.
The exception will be a few areas downwind of lakes Erie and
Ontario where a few lake-effect snow flurries can fly.
