The Nation’s Weather for Tuesday, June 1, 2021

_____

NATIONAL SUMMARY

As an area of high pressure settles off the mid-Atlantic

coast, dry weather with seasonable high temperatures in the

70s and 80s is expected for much of the East tomorrow.

Thunderstorms will rumble through the central and South

Florida Peninsula, mainly during the afternoon hours. The

South Central states will remain the focal point for

widespread showers and thunderstorms. The heaviest downpours

and greatest risk for flash flooding will shift away from

the southern Plains and instead take aim from southern

Missouri to northeastern Texas. Much of the balance of the

country from the Pacific states to the Midwest is forecast

to be dry. Drought conditions will be exacerbated in the

West as near-record heat sizzles the region.
