Wind advisories and cooler temperatures hitting midweek

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI)- Gusty conditions will take over the middle part of this week with wind advisories in place for Tuesday and Wednesday. Cooler temperatures could bring a possible midweek frost. More breezy conditions later in the week with a drying and warming trend heading into the weekend.

A wind advisory is in effect for the Arco/Mud Lake Desert and Upper Snake River Plain until 9pm Tuesday night. That includes the cities of St. Anthony, Rexburg, Idaho Falls, Mud Lake and Craters of the Moon National Monument, and the Idaho National Laboratory. Winds 25 to 35 mph are expected with gusts up to 50 mph.

Mostly clear skies for Tuesday night with the overnight low around 39.

Wednesday will bring more gusty conditions. A second wind advisory is in place for 9am to 9pm. It is expected to have similar impact to the same areas as Tuesday's advisory. More clouds will roll in with the daytime high around 65. A Frost Advisory or Freeze Warming may be needed for the valley growing zones as the overnight lows will be around 32.

A warming trend will begin on Thursday with sunny skies and a high near 70. Calm winds will see speeds in the single digits. Clear conditions at night with the low near 38.

The sunny skies and warmer temperatures continue with many areas reaching near or into the 80s by the weekend.
