Hot, dry, and breezy week to officially welcome in summer

KIFI

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI)- The first official week of summer is going to be hot, dry and with some breezes. That will create some more fire danger situations. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for the eastern Magic Valley until Monday night. Near critical fire weather conditions for most other areas.

Some lingering isolated shower chances will pop up Sunday night in the Central Mountains, upper Snake River Plain towards Island Park, and the South Hills. The overnight low for Sunday will be in the low 50s with some 5 to 15 mph breezes and gusts as high as 18 mph.

Monday will warm up to the mid 80s with sunny skies. Gusty winds will pick up to as high as 25 mph throughout the day. The overnight low will dip down to the upper 40s under mostly clear skies.

The highs on Tuesday will be a degree or two warmer, but still in the mid 80s with more sunny skies overhead. The wind will calm down and should stay in the single digits mph. Mostly clear skies at night with the low in the mid 50s.

The warming trend continues on Wednesday with the highs elevating the upper 80s. Thursday will be similar before a cool down and a system starts moving in Saturday.
