Freeze Warning Overnight; Sunny with highs near 70° Thursday

Across the region, we’ll see low temperatures bottom out to the upper 20’s to lower 30’s. This chill is all thanks to our latest area of low pressure, moving to the northeast tonight. This has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Freeze Warning.

FREEZE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO 9 AM MDT THURSDAY:

  • WHAT…Sub-freezing temperatures between 28 and 32 degrees expected.
  • WHERE…Shoshone/Lava Beds, Arco/Mud Lake Desert, Lower Snake River Plain, and Upper Snake River Plain.
  • WHEN…For the Freeze Warning, from 3 AM to 9 AM MDT Thursday.
  • IMPACTS…Frost and freeze conditions could kill
    crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

In Wednesday night’s forecast, look for mostly cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 32°. Breezy, with a west-northwest around 15 to 25 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.

Sunny for Thursday with high temperatures reaching for the upper 60’s to the lower 70’s. Lighter winds out of southwest around 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Friday will be sunny and warmer with an afternoon breeze. High temperatures will reach the lower 80’s with wind speeds around 15-25 mph.

Sunny, with a high near 80. Southeast wind 5 to 15 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph.
