St. Anthony becomes the Capital for a Day

SAINT ANTHONY, Idaho (KIFI) - In southern Fremont County, local officials along with the general public were able to confront the state at St. Anthony's City Hall Thursday as the city became the capital for the day. Many had traveled from far across eastern Idaho to have their questioned answered.

The event was hosted by the mayor's office at St. Anthony. Governor Little and other state leaders met with the public to answer this questions directly in person.

Topics covered were Fremont County's education, water rights and behavioral health services The two main topics, though, were the Island Park boil order that is in effect for most of their residential areas and how to fix US 20 between Ashton and Yellowstone.

In fact, ITD announced two new meetings that will happen at the end of this month to further discuss the expansion of US 20. On Monday, June 26, they will meet at the Ashton Community Center. On Tuesday, June 27, they will meet at the Island Park EMS building. Both meetings go from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

St. Anthony's mayor was also honored to host this event. He says this was a great way for his town to show of itself to the officials.
