Boy dies in skiing accident
BURLEY, Idaho (AP) - Authorities say a boy from Illinois died after hitting a tree while skiing at an Idaho resort.
Cassia County Undersheriff George Warrell told The Times-News the 11-year-old boy from Chatham was skiing with his family at the Pomerelle Mountain Resort near Albion, Idaho when he collided with the tree on Thursday evening.
Warrell said other skiers who were emergency medical technicians and paramedics immediately attempted life-saving medical procedures on the child, but he died at the scene.
The boy's family was visiting the area, and he was skiing with his mother when the accident occurred.
"It was a tragic accident," Warrell said.
