3 things to do this weekend – August 11, 2023

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - Here are some events going on in your local neighborhood this weekend:

  1. The annual Shoshone Bannock Indian Festival that is underway at the Fort Hall Reservation. The festivities kicked-off yesterday with the colorful children's parade, featuring modern characters mixed with traditional native American cultural clothing. The theme of this year's celebration is "Honoring the Strength and Resilience of Our Ancestors." The festivities run until Sunday, August 13.
  1. Chubbuck Days kicks off tonight. The two-day festival is the city's largest community event of the year. Tonight, there will be a free screening of Ratatouille at Stuart Park. Tomorrow, Chubbuck's Days continues with a grand parade at 10 a.m. The rest of the festival will be held at Cotant Park following the parade at 11 am. There will be a variety of vendors, food, and free fun family activities. 
  1. For the 32nd year, ducks are ready to get quacking this weekend. The Idaho Falls Rotary Club is prepping up for the Great Snake River Greenbelt Duck Race. A record 23,000 rubber ducks were shipped back in July to the DWI Warehouse. The Rotary Club is hosting other events today and tomorrow with car shows, boat races, and other activities. The ducks will be dropped into the river at 4 p.m tomorrow.
