3 things to know this morning – October 3, 2023
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - Here's what you should know to start your Tuesday.
1. The former owner of Downard Funeral Home is now facing new charges. During a court hearing yesterday morning, prosecutors upgraded Lance Peck's misdemeanor charges to a felony. Peck is accused of mishandling deceased remains at the former Pocatello funeral home. He's scheduled to appear in court on the new charges October 16th.
2. Starting this Friday, the Wyoming Department of Transportation will begin patching damaged road sections of Wyoming State Highway 22. They will be working from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from milepost 11.6 to 12.7 on the Teton Pass. Crews should complete the job in 2 days if the weather cooperates. Drivers should expect delays and plan accordingly.
3. The Idaho Department of Agriculture continues to fight Quagga mussels in a section of the Snake River near Twin Falls. The Department is preparing to treat the water with a copper chemical that is supposed to kill the mussels. The affected area of the river will remain closed until further notice.
