Rigby wins 6A High Country Conference title with dominant win

RIGBY, Idaho (KIFI) – A steady rain shower hung over the Rigby football field tonight as the Trojans took down the Madison Bobcats 35-3. The win gave the Trojans the 6A High Country Conference title, as Rigby finished 3-0 in conference play.

In the first, both teams attempted to get their footing offensively with the rain, and neither team was able to score. Then in the second quarter, Rigby finally punched one in. With the Trojan offense threatening on Madison's 24 yard line, RB Kue Kofe took a handoff from Evan Freeman and ran 23 yards down to the goal line. The very next play, Kofe ran it in, and after the extra point, Rigby went up 7-0.

The Trojan offense figured something out that Madison could not, and they went on to win in dominant fashion 35-3. With their conference title, Rigby gets an auto bid to the 6A state playoffs and a first-round bye. Since Highland beat Thunder Ridge, Madison finishes second and secures the conference's second auto bid.
