Bonneville shuts out Idaho Falls 33-0 in crucial playoff matchup

AMMON, Idaho (KIFI) — With both teams fighting for a spot in the 5A state playoffs, Bonneville delivered a dominant 33-0 shutout victory over Idaho Falls Friday night.

Entering the game, Bonneville was ranked 12th in the MaxPreps rankings, holding the final projected at-large playoff spot, while Idaho Falls sat just behind at 13th.

The Bees jumped out to a 20-0 halftime lead, keeping the Tigers off the scoreboard despite a late second-quarter drive led by quarterback Will Thompson.

Bonneville continued its dominance in the second half, adding 13 more points to secure the shutout.

The victory strengthens Bonneville's chances of earning a spot in the 12-team state tournament, while Idaho Falls now faces a much more difficult (if possible at all) path to the postseason.

More good news for Bonneville is that other bubble teams like Century and Ridgevue also lost.
