United Airlines to add 5th Idaho Falls – Denver flight
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - United Airlines will provide a fifth daily flight from Idaho Falls to Denver, for the first time in the Idaho Falls Airport's history.
The airline also announced it would increase the size of the aircraft used in two of those daily flights.
The new aircraft will add 102 new seats, or 50% more capacity, to the Denver destination. And, the newly added flights will also provide a first-class seating section that has not been available in the past.
"The new, expanded schedule provides ideal connectivity to more than 110 cities around the world in a single stop," said IDA Executive Director Rick Cloutier. "The new flights are specifically timed to make connections to new destinations such as London and Frankfurt…places where United has never provided one-stop service from Idaho Falls before."
Cloutier said the new service will create prospects for more east coast destinations with only one stop in Denver.
He said the airport will soon begin construction of a terminal expansion. That project will add three new gates, upgraded baggage claim, and improved airport security, including the new TSA pre-check line for approved passengers.
United has already started to sell tickets for the fifth flight. The service itself will start June 4, 2020.
