Idaho Falls Official Facebook Page Goes Live
It’s the dawning of a new era for the city of Idaho Falls; the city finally has its own official Facebook page.
“It’s a piece of the puzzle that was missing,” said Bradley Huerta, Director of Public Information for Idaho Falls, of the new page.
The page went live on Thursday.
Officials look forward to a more immediate back-and-forth with citizens.
“It’s going give us a far quicker response time with regards to looking at and gathering information, and responding to the citizens here in Idaho Falls,” Huerta said.
Huerta, an avid social media user himself, plans on personally managing the city?s Facebook account, along with the official Twitter page that has already been around.
“Personally, I do have pages. Yes, I do twit,? Huerta joked.
Already, the new Facebook page is filled with pictures, events, comments and a growing amount of “likes.”
“It really is a sign of the times, if you will,? Huerta said. ?We really need to be able to reach out and touch the citizens of Idaho Falls, in a way that makes it easy and accessible for them to understand what’s going on in their city.”
To find the city’s page, search for “City of Idaho Falls” on Facebook. Huerta said that just searching ?Idaho Falls? will return an unofficial page.
The city of Pocatello has an official Facebook page as well.
