Report: No harmful chemicals in Ryder Park Pond
No harmful chemicals have been found in an Idaho Falls pond that has seen a high amount of fish deaths, Idaho Fish and Game said Friday.
“We still do not know what caused the fish kill last month, but based on these reports, will stock the pond later today,” Idaho Fish and Game said in an email.
More than 100 rainbow trout turned up dead in less than a week in Ryder Park Pond in early May. The stocked fish came from two separate hatcheries, which is why officials said the problem was likely in the pond.
According to the report, there is no evidence the fish are unsafe to eat.
