Prison guard accused of sexual contact with inmate
An Idaho Department of Correction officer has been arrested for allegedly having sexual contact with an inmate at the Pocatello Women’s Correctional Center.
Kim Rogers, 59, has been placed on administrative leave without pay. He was hired by IDOC as a correctional officer in May 2002. He left the department in March 2003 and returned in May 2003.
The Idaho Department of Correction’s Office of Professional Standards has turned over the investigation to the Pocatello Police Department.
It’s the second arrest of a correctional officer on a sex charge in less than a month in the Gem State. Former Idaho Maximum Security Institution correctional officer Sebastian Lieber was charged with felony sexual contact with an inmate from the South Boise Women’s Correctional Center on May 24, after the department investigated allegations that Lieber had sex with a hospitalized inmate. Lieber has resigned his post.
The charge of sexual contact with a prisoner is a felony.
