Salon works to raise awareness for pancreatic cancer
After experiencing thedevastating loss ofa close friend to pancreatic cancer, The Defining Line Salon owner Amy Hanson decidedtoput together an eventtobring more attention to the disease.
“A haircut can’t in and of itself can’t cure cancer, but the idea of community gathering around, we’re a small enough company and we can’t really do anything amazing unless our clients and community get involved,” said Hanson.
Pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer-related death in the U.S. About 6 percent of those diagnosed with pancreatic cancer are expected tolive for five years.
