Jefferson board names new Rigby schools
The Jefferson School Board in Rigby has selected names for two new schools.
The new intermediate elementary school will be known as Philo T. Farnsworth Elementary School and the new junior high school will be named Rigby Junior High School.
Farnsworth is credited as “the father of television” based on his work with the cathode ray tube while he was a student in Rigby.
The school board solicited names from students and patrons through its School/Messenger system beginning last Christmas.
