Idaho House: Add oversight to insurance exchange

The Idaho House of Representatives is now supporting a state-based health insurance exchange, but under one condition.

They’d like two state lawmakers on the board of the exchange.

Rep. Wendy Horman, R – Idaho Falls, said this measure will give the state more control in an issue many feel is beyond state control.

“I’m happy that we have found a path forward, again, that just brings protection to our citizens — I believe protects our state sovereignty and brings better oversight through the legislative process,” Horman said.

Aides to Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter said he supports this measure.
