Main Street Buzz: Teton Pharmacy Ice Cream Bar
This Main Street Buzz may bring back some fond memories.
As a kid, you may remember going to the local drug store with your parents or grandparents, and while they waited for prescription to be filled you may have gotten an ice cream or pop at the soda fountain.
Teton Pharmacy re-located to a new building last month on Hitt Road south of Sunnyside in Idaho Falls and added an ice cream bar to the pharmacy.
“When I was a kid and a lot of people were a kid they could come in and get prescription filled and come over and get an ice cream, get a milk shake or chocolate milk or something like that. So it’s just trying to go back to the way pharmacy used to be,” said owner and pharmacist Jason Bailey.
The pharmacy sells ice cream from Reed’s Dairy for $1 per scoop. It offers 11 flavors and also chocolate milk, sodas and squeaky cheese.
The ice cream bar is open during pharmacy hours Monday through Saturday.
Bailey said anyone can come for ice cream without a need for prescription refills.
The pharmacy has special offers on ice cream on the Teton Pharmacy Facebook page.
