911 facility gets face-lift

One of Bonneville County’s emergency centers got a face-lift. City leaders met to see the new 911 facility Wednesday.

Authorities said the call center was out-of-date and could not keep up with more modern emergency vehicles. The center is now up and running better than ever with state-of-the-art equipment.

Idaho Falls Police Department Capt. Royce Clements said the upgrades will help with police out in the field.

“We have computers, the ability to research stuff much quicker. The ability of the dispatchers to know where the officers are is much more efficient as far as sending the right people to the right locations. It cuts down on our response times. All these things under the new technology is better than under the other system,” said Clements

The county said the new advancements will help more than just Bonneville, reaching all the way to Fremont County.
