A Dry and Calmer Monday Ahead of a Rainy Week
OVERNIGHT: The wind is expected to die down as we head into the night with winds sticking between 5-15 mph. Temperatures should be similar to last night's with lows around 50 degrees for the Valley and into the 40's in the Central Idaho and Western Wyoming mountains. Mostly clear skies are expected to last throughout the night without any rain chances.
MONDAY: Winds should stay calm during the day tomorrow with winds expected to continue between 5-15 mph with some gusts reaching up to 20 mph. With the help of a little southerly flow tomorrow, temperatures will rise, but only with a slight increase of 3-5 degrees to where we should see high's in the low 80's. Dry air will be present throughout tomorrow so there will be no chances of rain with mostly sunny skies.
LONG TERM: The rain chances will come back this week to help our drought and fire potential. Tuesday and Wednesday will both feature tiny isolated storms that will not be too frequent in number. The main rain chance though is for Thursday as a cold front moves through the area giving us plenty of showers and thunderstorms on that day. Winds will ramp up into Thursday where we could see sustained winds of 20-30 mph on that day. High temperatures slightly ramp up to the mid 80's on Wednesday before dropping 10 to 15 degrees to the upper 60's and low 70's on Thursday. Once the cold front moves through, warm air comes quickly back into the picture for next weekend with high's back to the upper 80's.
