Women make less than men
Idaho was ranked towards the bottom.
According to the Institute for Women’s Policy Research Idaho is ranked number 45 out of the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Women only make 73.5 percent of what men make for the same job.
“(Another reason can be) A lot of women–at least a higher percentage of women in Idaho than the U.S. average– will stay home for longer periods of time to raise kids or whatever it might be. so by the time they get back into the work place that could impact their average earnings,” says Chris St. Jeor, regional economist.
