Pocatello Animal Shelter nears completion

The Pocatello Animal Shelter and Adoption Center will be a nice Christmas gift for the animals. Construction is expected to be complete right before the holiday.

Thursday evening, the Pocatello City Council approved the landscaping portion of the project. The city says it will utilize “water-wise” landscaping, which will look good and be low maintenance. This means parking will be limited in the area while the work takes place.

“We ask them to park in the AMI trail and walk over to the animal shelter or the zoo offices,” said Merril Quayle, development engineer. “That way, the equipment and everything won’t get delayed.”

Quayle said this project is something Pocatello will be proud of.
