Car stuck under trailer in I-15 crash

A lane of traffic was closed for an hour on Intererstate 15 near Century High School in Pocatello on Tuesday morning due to an accident involving a car and a semi-truck.

Idaho State Police said Dakota Mason, 18, of Pocatello, was driving south in a 2003 Dodge Neon around 9 a.m. when he fell asleep, and his car drifted into the right lane.

The car went underneath a semi-trailer and became stuck. Both vehicles were going around 70 mph.

The truck pulling the trailer was driven by Jacob Neustaeter, 36, of Alberta, Canada. Police say Neustaeter wasn’t hurt.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, ISP said.

Police said the Neon was totaled.

Mason was cited for inattentive driving.
