Sheriff: Man hangs himself in Bingham jail
An inmate at the Bingham County Jail apparently killed himself.
Nickolas Seamons, 35, hanged himself in one of the showers Monday around 6:45 p.m., the sheriff’s office said. Officers and other inmates cut him down and attempted CPR.
He was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead.
Any time there is a death in the jail, outside agencies investigate, Sheriff Craig Rowland said. Authorities from Bannock and Bonneville counties are looking into the incident.
Seamons was in jail on a misdemeanor warrant from Bingham County and a felony warrant from Bannock County.
Next of kin has been notified.
Rowland said further information is not being released.
