District 25 school board continues superintendent search

A decision on who will lead the Pocatello/Chubbuck school district is still in limbo.

The District #25 school board had planned to name a successor to Mary Vagner this week. Vagner plans to retire after the current school year.

The board hosted an open house to feature its three leading candidates Monday. They are: Glen Szymoniak, former Superintendent of the McCall-Donnelly Joint School District; Joel Wilson, Superintendent of the Preston School District; and Randy Jensen, a longtime American Falls Middle School Principal.

But, after meeting in an executive session, the school board was unable to make a decision. The board said community input was fully reviewed and considered.

In a statement, the board said it would explore various options to move forward with their search.
