State fair opening day shatters records

It was a record breaking weekend for the Eastern Idaho Fair. Opening weekend attracted over 100,000 people.

People bought their tickets and made their way in.

The fair attracted so many families. There was something for everyone to enjoy.

Fair General Manager, Brandon Bird experienced the crowds firsthand.

“Sunday and Monday were both record breaking days for us we just had a fantastic opener and we are going to continue that with some great entertainment,” said Bird.

The general manager said there was a 15 percent increase from last year’s opening day.

On Thursday night comedian Gabriel Iglecias will be performing stand-up and Cheap Trick will be taking the stage on Friday night.
