October is breast cancer awareness
Eastern Idaho Regional Medical center wants to make getting a mammogram a pleasurable as possible.
It’s making the trip to the doctor feel more like a trip to a day spa.
It’s called Mammo Monday, and it’s so popular they are all booked up.
EIRMC’s imaging center is offering lip waxing, chair massages and giveaways to women who get their mammograms with them.
It’s about making women feel comfortable said a registered radiology technician.
“Roses for everyone who gets their mammogram along with treats and snacks so you can bring a friend and come in and get your mammogram done in a casual atmosphere,” said Cari Medeiros, a radiology technician.
The American College of Radiology along with the American Cancer society said 40 is a good age to start getting your mammogram.
They also said that yearly breast exams should be done.
