Public hearing made for empty horse stalls
Horse owners were able to express opinions Wednesday at the Bannock County Commissioners meeting. It relates to their exclusion from the horse stables at the Bannock County Fairgrounds.
Allegations came up on increased stall rates and alterations of contracts, which remains unclear. The County Commissioners say they are hoping to get this matter resolved within two weeks.
Private Attorney Robin Dunn says his horsemen clients had nothing to do with the neglected horses back in May. But he says the empty horse stalls need to be filled as they bring revenue to the county.
“So anytime you can bring revenue into a county, that’s a good thing to help defray expenses. But if you leave the stalls empty and vacant, it serves no legitimate purpose for the people of Bannock County or south eastern Idaho,” said Dunn.
The next public hearing will be on July 20th at the Bannock County Court House at 9a.m.
