“Aladdin Jr” comes to Chubbuck
A childhood Disney movie is coming to life in Chubbuck. Kids of all ages from Pocatello and Chubbuck will be performing Aladdin Jr.
Performances start Friday and go through Saturday, Aug. 13.
Shows Monday through Friday will start at 6:30 p.m. Saturdays will be matinee shows starting at 12:30 p.m.
Directors said the kids have been working hard for a couple months to get ready. With dress rehearsals underway, the kids are excited for opening night.
They said they’re ready to show the community what they’ve been working on.
“I’m kind of nervous, but really excited because I love acting and I’m really glad I got this big part,” said Alexa Vazquez, who plays Abu.
“It’s amazing. I’m so excited,” said Zac Greenwell, who will be Aladdin. “Growing up, Aladdin was actually my favorite Disney movie as a kid so now that I’m grown up and got this part, it’s just a dream.”
“It’s been a lot of work, a lot of character development and just a lot of patience,” said Landon Wadsworth, who will be playing the Genie. “But it’s been fantastic and I’ve loved every moment of it.”
Performances will be held at the Palace Playhouse in Chubbuck. Tickets are $10 for adults, ages 13 and up. For juniors (ages 5 to 12) and seniors (65+), tickets are $7. Tickets for kids are $5.
