Jackson looking to create housing for seasonal workers
The Jackson Town Council is working to encourage developers to create short-term rental units for seasonal workers.
The Jackson Hole News and Guide reports that a new proposal by the town council would have the city pay for infrastructure improvements for privately funded projects in exchange for deed-restricted units for seasonal workers.
The town has never had such an agreement and would need to determine how to track the value of its investments.
Two proposed developments raised the question of that kind of subsidy. One needs improvements to its sewage system for a $1.1 million price tag and another involves extending a water line for the cost of almost $300,000.
