Local non-profit receives large donation

As part of Northwest Farm Credit Service’s 100 year anniversary they are donating $12,000 to a the Idaho Falls Humanitarian Center in order to continue with the company’s mission of giving back to the community.

Approximately 34 employees and advisors from Northwest Farm Credit Services gathered Wednesday to present a check to the non-profit.

The donation will go back into the organization, said Northwest Farm Credit Services Branch Manager Steven Smith.”We feel it’s important to give back to the communities where we work and raise our families.”

Some of the funds will be used towards purchasing new sewing machines and repairing the cooling and heating system in the building where volunteers work.

The center is dedicated to helping homeless, poor and needy families and individuals in Eastern Idaho. This is done by providing other non-profit agencies with health and comfort items.

“Its important that we give back and improve our communities,” Smith said.
