Local reaction to Trump’s presidential win
Donald Trump claimed his victory Tuesday night in a victory speech. A lot of Clinton and Trump supporters were in shock. So KIFK/KIDK walked around town to see what local people had to say about the new president-elect Wednesday afternoon.
“I was a little shocked, like, I heard that Hillary Clinton won the popular vote. So, it was kind of shocking to hear that Trump’s actually the winner.”
“I was surprised that he won, but I am glad that we have a Christian vice president in the White House.”
“Very, very surprised. I kind of followed the polls, and I couldn’t believe how wrong they were.”
Tuesday night at one of the viewing parties, even Republicans in our area were startled at how well Trump did in the final hours.
