Rocky Mountain Power proposes rate reduction
Rocky Mountain Power wants to decrease its rates by $1.1 million. The .4 percent reduction would be applied equally across all customer classifications.
The utility asked the Idaho Public Utilities Commission to approve the rates. The decrease results from a projected reduction to the variable costs of providing electricity.
For the average residential customer in Idaho using approximately 800-kilowatt hours per month, the decrease would be about $3.24 on their annual bill. The Public Utilities Commission must approve the rates before they take effect.
