Idaho Falls man killed while crossing Salt Lake City street
An Idaho Falls man died Tuesday morning in Salt Lake City.
Salt Lake police say the man was 41-year-old Lester Dewey.
Police say Dewey along with his brother were crossing a street outside of a crosswalk when Dewey was hit by an SUV that couldn’t stop in time.
“The sad thing here was there are crosswalks nearby, and lights to regulate these intersections, and those weren’t utilized,” said Salt Lake City Police Det. Greg Wilking.
The accident caused issues as the road was closed while police investigated and drivers had to be detoured onto Interstate 80.
