Idaho Falls 2017 New Year’s babies

Happy New Year! Not one, but two New Year’s babies arrived on Jan. 1.The twin boys were delivered early Sunday morning at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

The mother, Shacie Doman, is in good condition, however, the babies are being cared for in the hospitals Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for the time being.

Dr. Glenn Leavitt said that the babies came a six weeks early. “The babies are getting the best care here at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center,” said Dr. Leavitt.

Baby Abram was born at 6:41 a.m. and his brother, Benson, was born an hour later at 7:40 a.m. Abram weighed 4 pounds 13 ounces, and Benson weighed 5 pounds 6 ounces. Parents Shacie and Ben Doman received a gift basket full of baby goodies that were donated by Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center Volunteer Auxiliary.

Photos of the twin boys have not been released.

Mountain View Hospital also welcomed their New Year’s baby late afternoon. Eleanor Stankewitsch weighed in at 6 pounds and measured 18 1/2 inches. Proud parents Amanda Curry and Nathan Stankewitsch went home with goodies for baby Eleanor. All other babies who were born on Jan. 1. received a box of diapers and baby wipes.
