Pocatello Fire Department holds ‘Burn and Learn’ event
On Thursday, the Pocatello Fire Department did a live-fire exercise at a vacant house.
During the all day training, firefighters started and put out multiple fires at the house.
The Pocatello Fire Chief said that before they could do the live-fire drill they had to go through a big safety check list. The department notified neighbors about the drill. Checked the structure of the house. And made sure the gas and electricity was turned off at the house.
Rookie firefighters at the drill were excited to be apart of the training, and even more excited to be a firefighter.
“Best job in the world. Love it,” said Bradley Nelson, who was training at the live-fire event.
